Peacock in Pine, Japanese Study Canvas Print

Leave the hallway wall blank if you like cautious rooms. This one puts a blue peacock, dark green pine needles and a wash of aged gold where most people settle for nothing. Hung up, it warms a plain corridor and gives the eye something to slow down for on the way past. It also earns its place above a sideboard in a dining room or over a desk in a study. Pair it with dark stained wood, cane, deep green velvet and a little aged brass. Keep the wall around it clear and skip busy patterned wallpaper or a tight cluster of small frames — the fine needlework in the pine needs air to read properly. As a canvas, the aged paper tone reads softly and the edges wrap clean with no glazing.
